A keyboard which is too wide is not necessarily a good ergonomic keyboard. Narrow keyboards are especially useful and recommended when you are using a laptop at a desk. In Display Screen Equipment regulations, it is highly recommended that the top of the monitor is level with your eyes. Looking down at your laptop monitor is not advised as it can put a strain on your neck. To avoid that problem, use a laptop stand along with a mouse, together with one of our narrow keyboards which are not only more portable than a standard keyboard but also prevent you from stretching too far by enabling the mouse to be close at hand. Adjustable ergonomic keyboards enable your hand to extend more comfortably from your wrists, ie. directly in line with your arms rather than the un-natural angle which normal keyboards demand.
The basic mouse has been with us for a long time now. They have been re-designed and re-modelled over the years, but some of us still find them uncomfortable. And continuous usage can lead to RSI (repetitive strain injury). If you have had that problem, then using a different mouse or using the other hand may help. However, as we are not all ambidextrous, we recommend using a Trackball or Vertical mouse. The vertical mouse completely changes the way you hold the mouse and puts your hand in a more natural upright position. By doing this it stops the bones in the forearm crossing over.
