Created by industrial designer Niels Diffrient, the Humanscale Freedom chair with headrest eliminates the need for manual controls. Its mechanism automatically adapts to the user, no matter what size or shape, to allow immense freedom of movement in all sitting positions.

Diffrient's approach to designing the Humanscale Freedom Headrest Work Chair was to remove all the complex tension dials and recline levers found on most office chairs to develop a weight-sensitive, self-locking recline backrest that transfers all the stress away from the user's body for full comfort and support in the seated position.

• Optional synchronous Duronarmrest for enhanced durability and comfort or upgrade to the gel armrest filled with a top layer of Technogel for extra comfort.
• A dynamic headrest that is designed to follow the contour of the head and neck. The headrest positions itself into place when reclined or upright and follows the natural curve of the neck.
• Cushions on the Humanscale Freedom are sculpted to resemble the contour of the body and are filled with moulded polyurethane foam cushions
