Study 1: Energy Expenditure across the iJoy Twist levels
The results:
The iJoy Twist increased energy expenditure by up to 200%.
Heart rate levels increased by 68% at Level 4 using two 1kg dumbbells.
The iJoy Twist achieved the intensity of exercise required for improved quality of life and reduce the incidence of over 20 chronic diseases including coronary heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
Two 15-minute sessions per day on the iJoy Twist burns an average of 162kcal.
The iJoy Twist is equivalent to 24 minutes of brisk walking.
The iJoy Twist accounts for 80% of the recommended physical activity for health when used according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Research shows that 10 minute exercise sessions are as effective as longer exercise sessions (Murphy & Hardman; 1998).
Study 2: EMG report: Muscle Activation using the iJoy Twist
Electromyography (EMG) measured the activation of muscles surrounding the core during exercise on the iJoy Twist.
It does this by detecting the electrical potential generated by muscle cells when these cells contract.
The results:
EMG data shows the iJoy Twist activates the core muscle groups of the stomach, back and legs.
The specific muscles activated by the iJoy Twist are the rectus abdominus, erector spinae, external obliques and hamstrings.
Participants in the trial reported that the iJoy Twist activated their hip muscles, including the illiopsoas and the gluteals.
The iJoy Twist activates the core muscles that are used in several ways, including posture.
Following the exercise programme that accompanies with the iJoy Twist would activate the leg, chest, upper back and arm muscle groups.
This means the iJoy Twist offers whole body exercise.

As an ex member of the British Chippendales having a tight
Ripped midsection was and still is very important to me, I found the
Ijoy an excellent tool, once you become accustomed to the movement
While siting you will quickly become aware of how the ijoy targets
Not only the core muscles, which will massively improve your core stability,
Your abdominal region, the spinal erectors which also improve posture are engaged
But what surprised me was the the ability the ijoy had to
Greatly improve my buttocks, gluteus maximus and the adductors, which are the
Inner thigh muscle structure, finally you will find that your core temperature
,body heat, will increase, this has the benefit of eating into body fat and this intern
Increases the metabolism, thus burning more calories.
I would rate the ijoy 10/10, it's convenient, looks great
and just 10/15 mins per day will do the job!.
