Fit for purpose

RH Ambio Chairs are easy to customise to fit your physical needs and your working environment. When you’ve chosen the basic settings for the height of the chair, back, and arms along with the tension, you’ll almost never need to change them again. It can’t get any simpler. By releasing the knee-tilt mechanism you can vary your posture smoothly between a forward or reclining position, allowing full freedom of movement, while the basic settings remain the same.

Ventec™: The chair that breathes

The seat and back pads of RH Ambio Chairs made of Ventec™, a unique natural material developed by RH. Ventec™ is made predominately of horsehair, a material that has long been known for its ability to transport moisture and heat*, to effectively breathe. The RH Ambio Chair takes this characteristic and develops it to a new level. The pure wool upholstery covering the seat and backrest also has ventilating properties. RH Ambio Chairs are 25 per cent better at transporting heat and 15 per cent better at transporting moisture away from the body than other office chairs.

A chair that stays that much cooler and drier will keep you cooler too. It’s more comfortable to sit in a chair that maintains a consistent, pleasant temperature. Ventec™ is also biodegradable, which is good for the environment.

Superb Design

The aluminium base is specially designed for RH Ambio. The surface of the base offers variation and support for your feet. The RH Ambio 120’s seat and back angle move in tandem when you release the knee-tilt mechanism. The basic settings still remain constant. With its single lever control, RH Ambio is a practical, easy to use, ergonomic work chair. Height adjustment is standard in the chair, arms and neck rest. The knee-tilt mechanism can also be locked in any position. The seat is available in medium (100) and large (120).

Smart Adjustments

The controls are gathered on the right side of the chair and can easily be reached while sitting, making RH Ambio very simple to adjust. The levers are easy to grip and easy to move. They are pictorial and clearly describe all the functions of the chair including independent back angle adjustment, seat slide etc.

The Knee-tilt mechanism control opens and closes the tilting function. The mechanism can be locked at any position.

The tension control is the key to active sitting. This allows you change position easy while working. You can keep it in an open position or lock it in any position.

Accessorise your RH

Castors for both hard and soft floors are available. Armrests are optional but are recommended since they provide relief for the shoulders. The arm rests can be adjusted vertically and horizontally and can also be rotated, allowing for greater flexibility. By rotating the armrests 180 degrees, you can adjust their length, enabling you to get closer to the desk. In addition, they are soft and relieve pressure.

In addition to the standard accessories the Ambio range can come with optional lockable storage box and a detachable soft case for the back of your chair. The RH Ambio 120 (large backrest) can also come with the optional coat hangar and neckrest.

Superb Seating

The seat’s form provides good support and stress relief with a waterfall edge that minimises pressure on the underside of your legs. The seat pad containsis Ventec™, our unique natural material that is breathable and environmentally friendly. As with the chair’s back rest, RH Ambio’s seat pad is fully removable.

Last longer in a chair that moves

When you sit in an RH Ambio, the two-point principle, or 2PP™, ensures that the natural balance of your knees and hips are restored. The Knee-tilt ensures that there is minimal lift at the front of the seat so that your feet stay on the ground. The pressure on the underside of the legs is minimised and the blood flow is normal all the time. The back support never moves up and down when you angle it, and the lumbar support is therefore always in the right place. This means that you maintain an upright posture, you breathe better, and then perform better. All of this is in accordance with 2PP™ and our ergonomic philosophy.
