I have wanted one of these badly and since getting it has transformed how I work, so much better. Before I had to either hold the book or lean to look down at the book, now it is upright and can be adjust to many angles. The plastic is fairly tough and it has 2 rubbery grippers, it grips on a sloped surface. Its big enough for very thick books. This is an essential pìece of kit for my desk for me. It takes all the effort out of working. Half the battle before was seeing the book and having to look down
